Buying a complete forklift and sourcing mast steel profiles are different procurement tasks. For an OEM profile enquiry, the supplier needs the component drawing, material requirement, critical interfaces and production demand—not general information about forklift model codes.
Start With the Assembly Function
Identify whether the profile is used in an inner mast, outer mast, carriage bar, guide rail, support or another fabricated component. Mark roller paths, sliding surfaces and connection areas.
Define the Steel Requirement
Provide the material grade, applicable standard and any delivery-condition or mechanical-property requirement. If alternatives may be considered, state which values cannot change.
Separate Profile and Finished-Part Scope
Clarify whether the quotation is for as-rolled profile, cut lengths or a processed component. List drilling, machining, welding preparation, surface treatment and packaging separately.
Give Real Demand Information
Trial quantity, annual forecast, delivery destination and approval timing affect tooling and production planning. These values should be stated as estimates when they are not firm.
Information to Include in an RFQ
- Section and component drawings with revision number
- Application within the mast or carriage assembly
- Material and inspection requirements
- Critical dimensions, straightness and roller interfaces
- Trial quantity, annual forecast and destination
